Southern California Mark Abel recently released his song-cycle The Dream Gallery on Delos, and it’s really starting to catch fire! And the best news, is that he has a Facebook Page! So head on over to Facebook.com/markabelmusic, give him a “Like,” and start exploring!
One fun aspect of building this new page was that it was the first “from scratch” Page that we had to put together in the new Facebook Timeline layout, which made for an interesting new look at the format. Since the page launched along side the digital release of the recording, it’s a nice plus to be able to watch the response to the album evolve, and the awareness of the composer himself evolve. When Facebook revealed they would be switching business Pages to the new Timeline format on March 30th, we had a couple of reactions — the first, if we’re honest, was a little eye-rolling about having to do re-designs, re-training, etc., but in general we were pretty excited. The Timeline brings an unprecedented amount of customization of content on Facebook Pages, and has a few nice design features for rotating promotions with the new cover images; but what was most exciting to us was the end of “landing pages” and the ability for Page apps/tabs to break out of the 520px wide cage that they were in previously. Classical Music Connects Coming to you LIVE from Málaga, Spain!
Marion Harrington is hosting the first Classical Music Connects! event this Saturday morning in Málaga, Spain! And the best part is, you get to experience it! That’s right, Rosebrook Classical will be facilitating a Livestream of the concert so that it is viewable in real-time around the world!
The concert will start at 6pm Central European Time (local time in Málaga), which for the U.S. viewers is 12pm Eastern/9am Pacific. So U.S. folks can consider this the grown-up version of Saturday morning cartoons!
