New Robert Greenberg OraTV Promo!

The promo for the new Robert Greenberg OraTV Series, Scandalous Overtures has been released!

From RobertGreenbergMusic.com:

Together with OraTV CEO Jon Housman, I have developed a show entitled: Scandalous Overtures in which each episode focuses on a conspiracy, or a peccadillo, or a dirty little secret from the life of a composer.

Aside from the purely salacious, voyeuristic joy of dishing dirt on famous dead people, the point of this series is to render composers, who for reasons mysterious to me are among the most hallowed of historical figures, more real, more human, and more accessible. By doing so, this series is ultimately intended to make their music – which is so often treated like some supra-human thing – more real, more human, and more accessible as well.

New Website — Robert Greenberg

These are exciting times to be following Robert Greenberg! Not only does he have new composition premieres this season, he recently released a new Great Course, and has a new upcoming show on OraTV! As such, it was time for a bit of a website re-do to echo all of these new projects, and we were more than happy to give his site a facelift in order to feature all of his new projects while making room for the many more things to come. Have a look at www.RobertGreenbergMusic.com today!

New Website — TCU All-State Choir Camp

We’re very happy to share the launch of the new homepage for the Texas Christian University All-State Choir Camp at www.choircamp.tcu.edu! The TCU All-State Choir Camp is largest program of its kind in Texas, and has been around for over a decade and has grown into two full camp sessions featuring the Texas all-state literature as well as training in vocal practice techniques, diction, and sight-singing.

The TCU All-State Choir Camp needed a site that had quickly navigable information for campers beforehand and as a reference during the camps while always having registration and form links at the forefront. This is our first complete “one-page” site, but it is still built on WordPress in order to allow for easy updates each year by the camp staff. If you’ve got a Texas student interested in preparing for the TMEA all-state choir process, visit a href=”http://www.choircamp.tcu.edu” title=”TCU All-State Choir Camp” target=”_blank”>www.choircamp.tcu.edu today!

Introducing Pianist Carolyn Enger

We are happy to introduce pianist Carolyn Enger into the Rosebrook Classical family of Clients!

Carolyn Enger | Rosebrook Classical Client

Lauded for her sensitive, nuanced playing, American pianist Carolyn Enger is a musician who consistently entrances her audiences. Anthony Tommasini –Chief Music Critic of The New York Times wrote “This year the classical music critics of The New York Times had plenty of options when selecting their favorite recordings of 2013….Among the 90th Birthday tributes this year to the essential American composer Ned Rorem, this recording especially stands out. The fine pianist Carolyn Enger plays Mr. Rorem’s complete Piano Album l, a collection of tender yet pungent miniatures written for friends, intimates and personal occasions from 1978-2001.”

Composers Inc Crowdfunding New Work by Robert Greenberg for the Alexander String Quartet

Composers, Inc. is crowdfunding a world premiere performance by the Alexander String Quartet of Robert Greenberg’s new Invasive Species! With just under three weeks to go, the Kickstarter campaign is nearly one-third of the way to the $3,000 goal. There are some great rewards for backers, but the best might be the $75 level which includes an invitation to a private party where Robert Greenberg has promised to personally mix you a martini — not a bad deal considering you’d also get a signed CD and concert program!

New Site — Matthew Valverde | tenor

We’re very happy to share the launch of tenor, Matthew Valverde’s new website at www.matthewvalver.de! Matthew Valverde is a DMA candidate in vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music, as well as a performing tenor, and choral conductor.

Mr. Valverde needed a site that people could quickly navigate in order to see what it is he offers, while also enabling for visitors to go more in-depth. So we ended up creating a semi-one-page website. While all of the sections are present and quickly navigable from the home-age, each section acts as an excerpt for it’s more full page. For the curious, the site is built as a custom child-theme from the iThemes Builder “Everett” theme.

About Site5:

“Our current hosting philosophy is based on guaranteed performance. Rosebrook Classical’s Top 10 CDs of 2012

Through all of our various clients, we get the privilege of listening to a TON of great music. So as we head into 2013, Rosebrook Classical owner David Weuste is letting you in on his top 10 CDs of 2012 (Click the artwork to view on Amazon):

2RR-127Cover#10 Playing With Fire

Dallas Wind Symphony

Reference Recordings

While I’m not the biggest fan of concert band music, what set this CD apart for me was the Playing With Fire work itself. There’s something about the addition of the Jim Cullum Jazz Band with the Dallas Wind Symphony that just works. This piece and RR’s recording of it might be the most fun I’ve had listening to a concert band work in a long time.

da Capo Brass - from the beginning#9 From The Beginning

da Capo Brass

Delos

This CD came out in January 2012, and it’s a testament to it’s staying power that it jumped to the front of my mind when compiling this list. The da Capo Brass ensemble is absolutely stellar, and all of these new works for brass quintet need to go into repertoires across the country, and fast. This is definitely a “must have” recording for any brass player interested in chamber music.

LIVE IN GREECE#8 LIVE IN GREECE: From Constantinople to California

Cappella Romana

I have absolutely loved working with this ensemble this year. If you are at all a fan of chant, or Orthodox music, this CD is an absolute must-listen. There have been times this year that this recording has been a bit of an obsession — and that’s a good thing!

DE3410cover#7 New Love Must Rise

Donald George, tenor; Lucy Mauro, piano;

Delos

There is probably no other composer in the last couple of years that has held my attention like Margaret Ruthven Lang — and I owe it all to Donald George and Lucy Mauro for their fantastic research and delightful recordings. This recording and Volume One: Love Is Everywhere need to be in every American music enthusiasts collection.

FireEPtwitterbg#6 Playing With Fire EP

Jade Simmons

Superwoman Records

There are some incredibly fun tracks on this EP, but for me, it’s this high on my list because of one reason — Dolphy to the Death. I don’t know what it is about this work, but I could groove to it on repeat all day and never get bored.
